Clinical Context
Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography shows cancer cells have high glucose metabolism (Warburg effect). Physiologic uptake in brain, myocardium, bowel. Standardised uptake value maximum greater than 3 to 5 concerning for malignancy.
