Purpose
Diagnosed on computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging; 40 percent have metastases at diagnosis
Clinical Context
Renal cell carcinoma clear cell type most common. Computed tomography shows enhancing mass. Bosniak I to V for cysts: I to II benign, III to IV malignant risk. Metastases include lung, bone, brain.
