Purpose

Assess for tear, tendinopathy, impingement

Clinical Context

Rotator cuff tears: partial or full-thickness. Rotator cuff tears increase with age (greater than 50). Impingement syndrome precedes tears. Magnetic resonance imaging best for soft tissue.
