- Feel on the dorsum of the foot, between the bases of the first and second metatarsals
- It lies lateral to the tendon of extensor hallucis longus
- Ask the patient to extend the big toe to make the tendon stand out as your landmark
It is the continuation of the anterior tibial artery beyond the ankle.
